Libraries are important partners in sustainability. As a key, but often forgotten, municipal agency, libraries are often a point of contact for community education. Libraries are major players in creating livable, environmentally friendly cities (have you seen our little garden?). There are some unique ways in which libraries can further sustainability at the local level. Libraries can take a lead in creating partnerships within the community. Partnerships with local business’, with the Senior Center , with the schools and others as well. Libraries can foster community resilience, self-reliance and a culture of sharing. Support your local library and if you need a “partner” in a project, do not forget to call on us. A quick reminder that we have Story Time every Thursday at 10:30AM and Lego Land every Tuesday after school to 4:30PM. We also still have the Valentine’s contests going until February 7th.
