Libraries are places where people come to know themselves and their communities.  In the words of author Robert Putnam, “People may go to the library looking mainly for information, but they find each other there.”  Young parents connect at Story Time, youngsters connect during Lego Land, teens begin building some “ownership” in the library and  people attend event,  find they make new friends and renew with old friends.  In libraries, community building connections are happening all the time.
