There is always something going on at the Clearwater Public Library. The B&B (CPL Youth: Books and Beyond club) had a good time playing games and eating snacks this last week for their meeting. If you want more information about the club just drop by the Library and talk with Tina. The Bug Lady was here and she was awesome!!!! We had over 100 attend her presentation.
Next week Cherokee will be back (do not forget your Dog Day cards that once filled can be turned into Tina for a prize) and still working on the Knotted blankets. I think one of the blankets is ready to be knotted. We also have Didgeridoo coming this next week for two sessions.
Didgeridoo Down Under Show on June 27th at 5:00PM at the Library
DDU is a high-energy, Australia-themed show that combines music, culture, puppetry, comedy, character building, storytelling and audience participation. The didgeridoo, usually a hollow tree trunk, has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years, and is known for its otherworldly sound. But DDU is much more than music. It’s interactive, educational, motivational and super fun – perfect for kids and families.
Aussie Funk Jam Workshop on June 27th at 6:00PM at the Library
The Aussie Funk Jam is a completely interactive and hands-on workshop. Participants learn how to play the didgeridoo, including vocalizing, creating simple rhythms and more, with our beginner instruments. It’s cool, funky and unique – Ideal for teens and tweens, but OK for ages 8 and up.
On Thursday, June 29th the Sedgwick County Animal Response Team will be here . The first presentation, at 11”00AM is for our younger patrons to teach a bit about animals and how to treat them. The second presentation is for older youth and will go into more detail of what they do to help animals.
