We want to know what you think, how can we improve the Clearwater Public Library? We are doing a survey to obtain your thoughts on your library. You may fill out a paper survey which will be at the Library or you can go to the following link and take the survey on-line. This link is also posted on our Facebook page and our Web Site.  The survey will last until March 13th, then we will compile the information and make decisions accordingly. You do not have to sign your name to the survey, however, a “winner” will be picked from the names and that person will win two tickets to the Orpheum Performing Arts Centre Classic Film Series. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey and help us to help you, here is the link; https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VYW72PF

The Clearwater Public Library is having yet another contest, actually two contests, for Saint Patrick’s Day.  The contest begins on March 1st and ends on March 15th so the winners have time to pick up their prizes by St. Paddy’s Day.  All you have to do to enter either contest is come into the library, check out a book or DVD, put your full name and contact information in the appropriate box.  Winners names will be randomly drawn and will be contacted and names published.  One contest is for adults 21 or older and the prize is a gift certificate to the local “First and Last” bar, the second contest is for all those under the age of 21 and they will be able to choose a prize from the prize box.

The Clearwater Public Library serves all ages.  We have Story Time (Thursdays at 10:30AM), Lego Land (Tuesdays after school to 4:30) and we are in the process of creating a “Teen Club” to work under the “Friends of the Library” group and are working on a program to integrate our “Seniors” with our youngsters.  If you would like to join us for any of these programs or have any questions, please feel free to call us (620) 584-6474, or drop by the library.  You can also find us on Facebook or check our Web site, www.clearwaterkslibrary.org .  Truly great things happen at the library and we have an amazing staff.  Do you have an interest in ideas and knowledge and a belief  that they make a difference? Then you might be interested in becoming an Library Board member. If you are, please let Library Director Tina know by calling or coming by the Library.  Public libraries are cool places, a place to read, learn and connect.

Clearwater Public Library – Check Us Out!

A new year begins

A new year has begun and is filled with possibilities. There will be plenty at the Clearwater Public Library; Lego Land on Tuesdays after school to 4:30 (be sure to check out the newest “creations” in the display case), Story Time on Thursdays at 10:30 and more. Have you participated in the Valentine’s contests yet? When you come to our Library to get that print book, or whatever you are wanting/needing remember to try your hand at the Valentine contests! Yes, I know that it is still January but since Valentine’s falls in the middle of the month and I wanted people to have plenty of time to enter. There are two contests so everyone has a chance. The first contest is for all ages; Simply guess how many candy hearts are in the jar. You will need to write your full name, your guess and a phone number where you can be contacted if you win. On February 7th the person that gets the closest without going over will win all the candy hearts (not the jar though, as it is the only one I have). The second contest is strictly for the adults that are 18 or older, the Library is offering the winner a “Date Night”. Every time a patron of the proper age checks out a book or movie from the Library they can enter (write your full name and contact phone number) to be placed in the Valentine jar. On February 7th (in plenty of time for Valentines) a random winner will be drawn from the jar. The winner will receive two (count them, 2) vouchers to exchange at the Orpheum Classic Film series movie of your choosing. They have a great line – up of films and the vouchers are good for the entire year of 2017, if you cannot get there on Valentines. So drop on by and show your heart at the Clearwater Public Library. Of course, we are working on the Summer Reading 2017 program as well. The theme this year is “Building a Better World.” If you would like to help or make a donation simply contact Tina at the Library. Be sure to watch the news, check our Facebook page and our website, www.clearwaterkslibrary.org or simply drop by to see what is going on at the Library. Clearwater Public Library – Check Us Out!

Wow

Did you know that the McAllen (Texas) Public Library has 123,000 Square feet? It was built in a former Wal-Mart store and is the largest single-floor library in the United States. Our Library is not as big as that in size which makes it easy to find what you need or want. While in the Library do not forget to try your hand at the “Guess the Peppermints” contest and remember the coloring contest for youth up to the age of twelve.
